Hello!  My name is Yvonne and I want to welcome you to my blog. Come in, sit down, and have a cup of coffee with me as I tell you my story(ies).  For the past 50 years, my husband and I have been in some type of ministry, such as youth pastors, music ministry, children’s church, leading a youth choir, women’s ministry, and formerly as part-time pastors at a small church in Pennsylvania. We have since moved to VA and currently attend another church where Roger fills in as a Sunday School teacher and wherever he is needed. (Roger now pastors a small church in WV part time and has been there since December 1, 2019.) The purpose of our moving to VA was to babysit our grandson who will be 5 in November.  However, since his birth, there have been two more grandchildren: boy and girl (ages 2 1/2 and 1).  My daughter no longer works from home but is a stay-at-home mom and loves it.  Her husband is working on his Master’s degree two nights a week, and I help with the children during the day and stay late on these nights.  Since the schedule is more flexible, I am able to have more free time to occasionally write and get back to creative/crafty things that I enjoy.l

Having come from a non-Christian home of twelve children, we were led to minister to my family by taking in several of my younger siblings to live with us. Although we had no children of our own during that time, God so graciously gifted us with our own daughter after we were married for almost twenty years. That was a miracle in itself (and another story). God even allowed my parents to live in our home in Tyrone until they both passed away just a few months apart of each other. It was during that time that they both came to know the Lord and I can honestly say that they are in His arms. It is the lessons and experiences I have had in my walk with the Lord that I want to impart in this blog–stories of hope and healing.

Arts and crafts have also been a part of my life for over twenty-five plus years.  I am a self-taught artist and creating various projects has given me a great deal of satisfaction and fulfillment. Recently, I have added coloring in adult coloring books as well as learning the water color technique.  In the past, I have enjoyed sewing, painting, and journaling, and actually taught sewing to ten- andYvonne Templeton eleven-year-old girls in a home business. In 2002, I became an OSCI (One-Stroke technique) Certified Instructor and have taught this painting technique at a local Michael’s store.  Writing has also been part of my life as I have journaled since the 1990’s. A few years ago I attended a Writer’s Conference and it wasn’t until after that time that I began this blog site.   My desire for this blog is to encourage and inspire others to begin their journey and find their God-given talents so that they can bless others as God intended.

If I would have to summarize my life, I would say I am a retired pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, writer, pianist, blogger, decorative painter, home decorator; passionate about family, home, creativity, faith, and friends; believe in forgiveness, hope, love, acceptance, courage, determined, victorious living, eating healthy, exercise, peace, strength, goodness in everyone, joy, gratitude, kindness, de-cluttering home and life, and much more.
